Sketchbook pages from my time at Cheltenham college of Art (c.1977) . I came across this small sketchbook the other day – the memories come back but it was oh so long ago!

The drawings seem quite assured to me now when I remember the callow 21y old who made them.

It has to stop somewhere, chasing detail is not always necessary.

And suddenly it was there. Not much further to go now. More detail in the surf foreground. Picking the land out on the R Horizon. Some glazing to balance the light.
